CLIENT PORTFOLIO

How we helped a Horsham-based CIC to re-brand thier Wix website and create a new brand identity.

Woods for Learning Logo design project

Rob was asked to look at bringing some unity to the Brand and Website. Sussex based Community Interest Company, Woods for Learning were keen to showcase a new look that reflected their ethos and company values. We were tasked with creating a new logo, a new website and structured branding that would work across all the activities the company run. The organisation is child friendly, so an emphasis on keeping the brand young and vibrant was key, also to project it's organic and natural focus on the environment.

The Building Process

After some reflection, we opted to re-design the Woods for Learning Website on it's current Wix Template platform, the client had used the dashboard for a number of years and was very familiar with how the back office system worked.

Wix offers a comprehensive set of features to centralise all aspects of the business in one place, including:

  • A client information and booking hub

  • Program updates and seasonal announcements

  • Safety policies and risk assessments

  • Program guides and brochures

  • Activity highlights and learning experiences

  • Session schedules and program information

The website’s user-friendly dashboard now allows the team to easily manage and update content as needed, ensuring information remains current and accessible. Key updates and announcements are clearly available through the site, making it simple for clients to find what they need. The website was designed to present important operational and safety information in a clear, intuitive way, so visitors can access essential details quickly and confidently. This was all backed up with a fresh and on-brand overhaul of the content and appearance.

The Customers Issues

  • Outdated Digital Presence: The original website didn't reflect the high energy and "hands-on" nature of their forest school sessions.

  • Lack of Functional Scalability: As they expanded into school camps, adult wellbeing and birthday parties, their current internal knowledge couldn't manage the diverse booking requirements or content types.

  • Low Search Visibility: Despite being a leader in Horsham for outdoor learning, they weren't ranking effectively for key local terms, making them "invisible" online to new parents and schools.

  • Brand Misalignment: The visual identity felt "small" compared to the professional, OFSTED-recognised impact they were delivering.

Our Thinking...

  • Brand Professionalisation: Our strategy was to elevate Woods for Learning from a local activity provider to a premiere outdoor education brand.

  • User-Centric Architecture: We mapped out a journey that catered to three distinct audiences: Schools (educational rigor), Parents (trust and ease of booking) and Adults (wellbeing and relaxation).

  • SEO-First Content: We built a high-intent keyword stratgey using phrases like "Forest Schools Horsham" and "Outdoor Learning West Sussex" to ensure the site served as a lead-generation engine from day one.

  • Platform Choice: Leveraging Wix internal functionality to provide a high-performance, mobile-responsive home that the client could easily manage moving forwards.

Our Design and Delivery

  • Visual Identity: We introduced a vibrant, nature-inspired palette and organic textures that mirror the woodland environment. We focused on high-quality imagery to show—not just tell—the "Forest School" experience.

  • The Build:

    • Custom Booking Systems: Integrated seamless booking flows for holiday clubs and parties to reduce the administrative burden on Gary and the team.

    • Interactive Portfolios: Created dedicated areas for "Big School Camp" and "Adult Wellbeing" to showcase the breadth of their offer.

  • Technical SEO: Implemented advanced Schema markup and optimised page speeds to ensure the site performed as well as it looked.

  • Collaborative Iteration: Worked closely with Gary to ensure the "voice" of Woods for Learning remained authentic throughout the copy and design.

  • Increased Reach: Significant improvement in organic search rankings, leading to a higher volume of enquiries for school partnerships and private parties.

Client Feedback

"Iris Digital Marketing Solutions had been superb. Rob was given brief of a rebrand of Woods for Learning CIC, the aim was to make a newer and fresher feel that had both child and adult at heart while maintaining the philosophy of Woods for Learning. The logo was the first step and then the website was built around the concept. A stunning interpretation of the brief that will mean the website and logo now matches the high quality and award winning programmes at Woods for Learning".
